INGREDIENTS
12 ounces beer of choice
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 quart vegetable oil
10 large white button mushrooms
CONVERSION CALCULATOR
DIRECTIONS
Whisk the beer, baking powder, garlic, salt, pepper and flour in a large bowl.
Heat the oil in a dutch oven to 350° F.
Dip the mushrooms into the batter and then carefully place immediately into the hot oil.
Fry the mushrooms, a few at a time, turning to ensure even frying, until golden brown, 4 to 8 minutes.
Carefully transfer the fried mushrooms from the oil to a paper towel lined plate then allow a few minutes to cool before serving.
