Broiled India Style Tilapia
Tilapia fillets coated in a mixture of yogurt and Indian spices then broiled in the oven and served with a green chutney.

Ingredients
- GREEN CHUTNEY:
- 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
- 1/4 cup chopped mint leaves
- 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 serrano pepper, remove seeds, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1 tsp chopped ginger
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- TILAPIA:
- 1 TBSP minced garlic
- 1 TBSP minced ginger
- 1 TBSP ground cumin
- 1.5 tsp ground coriander
- 1.5 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/2 cup plain whole milk Greek yogurt
- 1 pound tilapia fillets
- OPTIONAL EXTRAS:
- Lemon Slices
- Chopped Cilantro
Directions
- To make the Green Chutney, place all the Chutney ingredients into a dish and stir together. Let sit for 15 minutes then blend in a blender, blend until it becomes a thick paste. Transfer to a serving dish and set in the refrigerator.
- Put the garlic and ginger in a mortar & pestle and grind into a paste then transfer to a bowl. Add the cumin, coriander, garam masala, turmeric, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and salt and stir until well combined. Stir in the lemon juice and yogurt.
- Place the fish in a shallow dish and coat well on both sides with the spice mixture.
- Set the broiler to HIGH and adjust the rack to its highest position. Line a baking sheet with foil and place the fish in a single layer on to the foil. Place the fish under the broiler for about 8-12 minutes or until thoroughly cooked and well browned on top.
- Place the fish on a serving platter and top with lemon slices and chopped cilantro. Serve with the green chutney.
