INGREDIENTS
8 ounces dried Great Northern white beans, rinsed
6 cups water
2 TBSP olive oil
4 medium garlic cloves, minced
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
salt & freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1 TBSP fresh lemon juice
CONVERSION CALCULATOR
DIRECTIONS
Add the beans and water to a large saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil.
Reduce the heat to medium-low then cover the pan and simmer the beans until tender, about 1 hour.
Drain the beans and set aside.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat then drizzle 2 TBSP of olive oil into the skillet.
Add the cooked beans, garlic, crushed red pepper, 1 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp black pepper to the pan and stir to combine.
Cook the beans, stirring often, for about 2 minutes.
Take the beans off the heat and stir in the Parmesan and lemon juice.
Taste the beans and season with additional salt & pepper if needed.
