INGREDIENTS

  • MARINADE:
  • 3 TBSP soy sauce
  • 2 TBSP cooking sherry
  • 2 TBSP cornstarch
  • 2 TBSP peanut oil
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 pounds top sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • STIR FRY:
  • 12 ounces linguine pasta
  • 1 TBSP peanut oil
  • 5 medium garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 4 jalapeno peppers, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, seeds removed and thinly sliced
  • 2 TBSP soy sauce
  • salt & freshly ground pepper

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a large bowl mix the MARINADE ingredients together (soy sauce, sherry, cornstarch, peanut oil, and black pepper). Stir in the sliced steak and allow to sit while you cook the pasta.
  2. Cook the linguine according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  3. Heat a large pan or wok over high heat until very hot. Add half of the steak to the pan and cook, stirring occasionally, for 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Remove the steak from the pan and set aside on a plate. Cook the remaining half of the steak in the pan the same way then set all the cooked steak aside on the plate.
  5. Add the 1 TBSP of peanut oil to the now empty pan over high heat. Add the garlic, crushed red pepper, jalapeno, and bell pepper then cook while stirring for about 1 minute.
  6. Add the 2 TBSP of soy sauce, the cooked linguini, and the steak into the pan with the peppers and toss to combine.
  7. Season with salt & freshly ground pepper to taste.
