Ingredients

1 TBSP olive oil
1 medium onion, diced
2 medium garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp freshly minced ginger
1 pound ground beef
2 tsp garam masala
1 TBSP curry powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
2 TBSP tomato paste
salt & pepper
1 cup water
1 cup frozen peas
cooked rice and/or naan bread for serving

Directions

1. Heat the oil in a dutch oven or large saute pan over medium heat.

2. Add the onion, garlic, and ginger to the pan and cook, stirring occasionally, until onions begin to soften, about 3 minutes.

3. Add the ground beef to the pan and cook while breaking it up until no longer pink, about 5 minutes.

4. Add the garam masala, curry powder, cayenne, tomato paste, and 1 tsp salt. Stir to combine and cook for about 1 minute.

5. Add the water to the pan. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

6. Stir in the peas and simmer for 3 more minutes or until sauce is desired consistency. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
