Orecchiette with Sausage and Broccoli

Ingredients
12 oz orecchiette pasta
1/2 lb ground Italian sausage or sausage removed from casings
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 lb frozen broccoli florets, cut into small pieces
1 cup chicken broth
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
2 TBSP unsalted butter
salt & pepper
1/2 cup fresh grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
1. Cook the pasta according the package directions.
2. Meanwhile, in a dutch oven or large skillet brown the sausage over medium heat while breaking it up with a wooden spoon or spatula, about 5 minutes.
3. Add the garlic and cook 30 seconds or until fragrant.
4. Add the broccoli, chicken broth, 1/2 tsp salt and red pepper flakes. Cook for about 5 minutes while scraping the bottom of the pan to release any stuck on bits. Stir in the butter and allow to simmer, about 5 more minutes.
5. Drain the pasta and add to the pan. Toss to combine and add salt & pepper to taste.
6. Serve topped with the Parmesan cheese.
