recipe by: Frankie
Ingredients
- 3 lbs baby back ribs
- 1 TBSP garlic powder
- 1/2 TBSP onion powder
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp cayenne
- 12 oz beer
- for the sauce:
- (or use 1 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce)
- 2 TBSP tomato paste
- 1 cup water
- 3 TBSP Worcestershire sauce
- 2 TBSP unsalted butter
- 1 TBSP white vinegar
- 1/2 TBSP yellow mustard
- 2 tsp liquid smoke
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 TBSP honey
Directions
- In a small bowl combine the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika and cayenne. Rub spice mixture all over the ribs to coat.
- Pour the beer into the slow cooker and place the ribs meat side up in the beer. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours. Skip to step 4 if using your own BBQ sauce.
- While ribs cook mix together the sauce ingredients in a small saucepan over low heat and cook, stirring occasionally, about 45 minutes to 1 hour or until slightly thickened. Pour sauce into a bowl, cover and refrigerate until ribs are finished cooking in the slow cooker.
- Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with foil. Carefully remove ribs from the slow cooker and place on the foil lined baking sheet meat side up. Brush the sauce over the ribs and bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until a nice crust forms.
- Enjoy.
