Thick and Crispy Homemade Pizza Crust
A thick homemade pizza crust made with a mix of bread flour and whole wheat flour that's crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside.

Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups warm water
- 1 package (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 2 cups bread flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 TBSP olive oil plus a little extra
- pizza sauce and toppings of your choice
Directions
- Stir together the yeast and water in a large mixing bowl then set aside for 5 minutes to allow the yeast to hydrate.
- Stir in the flours and salt then knead by hand for about 5 minutes.
- Form the dough into a ball then loosely cover the bowl and set aside for 45 minutes to allow the dough to rise.
- Lightly oil a 14-inch pizza pan then stretch the dough to fit onto the pan.
- Brush 1 TBSP of olive oil on the dough then set aside for 30 more minutes to rise a little more.
- Preheat the oven to 475°F.
- Bake the dough in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
- Take the dough out of the oven then spread on your sauce and add your toppings.
- Place back in the oven and bake for 10 to 12 more minutes.
