This controlled flooding helps control weeds, reduces the risk of pests and diseases, and provides essential nutrients to the rice plants.

Growth and harvesting:
Rice plants typically take around 3 to 6 months to reach maturity, depending on the variety and growing conditions. During this period, farmers monitor the growth of the plants and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal conditions. Rice is generally harvested when the grains have reached their maximum size and have turned golden or brown.

Processing:
After harvest, post-harvest processing steps are carried out to prepare the rice for consumption or storage. These steps may include threshing (separating the grains from their husks), drying (reducing moisture content), milling (removing bran layers), polishing (giving a shiny appearance), sorting (removing impurities), and packaging.
