12 ounces fresh green beans
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
salt & pepper
1 TBSP unsalted butter
2 TBSP peanut oil

1. Rinse the green beans thoroughly under cold water then trim the ends off. Place the beans in a large saute pan and cover with water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat then cover the pan and reduce the heat to medium. Simmer the beans over medium heat for 2 minutes. Drain the beans and place them in a large mixing bowl.

2. Mix the garlic, onion, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp pepper in a small bowl then sprinkle onto the green beans and toss to coat.

3. Carefully wipe the pan dry and heat the butter and oil over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot the beans to the pan and cook, stirring often, until the beans just start to char, about 2 minutes.

4. Transfer beans to a paper towel lined plate. Season beans with salt and pepper to taste.
