Chili Garlic Slow Cooker Beef Short Ribs
Servings: 4
Ingredients
3 1/2 lbs bone-in beef short ribs
1/2 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 TBSP butter
1 TBSP canola oil
1 large onion, sliced
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1 1/2 cups beef broth
4 TBSP chili garlic sauce
Directions
1. Put the flour, salt and pepper in a large sealable plastic bag and shake to combine.
2. Add the short ribs to the bag, seal and shake to coat.
3. Add the oil and butter to a dutch oven and heat over medium high.
4. In batches sear the short ribs on both sides about 3 to 4 minutes per side and place in the slow cooker.
5. Drain the oil from the dutch oven and place back on the stove over medium high.
6. Add the onions, chili garlic sauce and vinegar and cook for one minute.
7. Stir in the beef broth while scraping up any brown bits off the bottom of the pan. Bring to a boil.
8. Pour liquid in the slow cooker over the short ribs.
9. Put the lid on the slow cooker and cook on low for about 5 to 6 hours or until the beef begins falling off the bone.
