Garlic and Parmesan Orzo

A simple orzo pasta dish made with butter, fresh garlic, and freshly grated Parmesan cheese.

Garlic and Parmesan Orzo

Ingredients

2 TBSP unsalted butter
1 pound uncooked orzo pasta
5 medium garlic cloves, peeled and minced
salt & pepper
4 cups water
2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese


Directions

1. Melt the butter in a large pot over medium-high heat.

2. Add the orzo, garlic, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp pepper to the pot and cook while stirring for about 1 minute.

3. Stir in the water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer uncovered, stirring often, about 7 to 8 minutes or until the liquid is absorbed.

4. Take the pot off the heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted. Add salt & pepper to taste.
