Cheese Jalapeno Cheeseburger
Servings: 3
Total Time: 45 minutes
Ingredients
1/4 cup freshly diced jalapenos
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 pound ground beef
salt & pepper
optional: onion, pickle, mayo, lettuce
Directions
1. IN a small bowl mix together the jalapeno and cheese. In a large bowl use your hands to mix together the beef and HALF of the jalapeno cheese mix until well combined.
2. Form the beef mixture into 3 patties just a tad larger in diameter than your burger buns. Place the patties on a plate. Use your fingers to make a shallow depression in the center of each burger, cover the burgers and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
3. Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Season both sides of the burgers generously with salt & pepper. When the pan is hot add the burgers and cook until browned on both sides and cooked through, about 4 to 6 minutes per side depending on how well you like them cooked.
4. Transfer the burgers to a plate and top them evenly with the remaining jalapeno cheese mix, let sit until cheese melts a bit.
5. Transfer the burgers to buns and top with any additional toppings.
