1 lb ground beef 80/20
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/4 cup jalapenos, finely diced
1/3 cup sharp cheddar cheese, finely shredded
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 slices American cheese
2 sourdough burger buns
pickle, mayo, lettuce, jalapeno slices


1. In a large bowl add the beef, egg, jalapenos, cheddar cheese, garlic, salt and pepper. Mix with your hands until combined.

2. Form beef mixture into 2 large patties, about 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch thick. Place patties on a plate, cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

3. Heat a non-stick skillet over high heat.

4. Cook patties about 4 minutes per side.

5. Place patties on the bottom half of the sourdough bun. Top the burger with the American cheese. Add pickle, mayo, lettuce and jalapeno slices if desired.

Notes & Tips

Cook time is for a medium burger. Adjust cook time to your burger wellness preference.
