Ingredients

  • 2 strip steaks (about 1 1/2 lbs) thinly sliced
  • 1/2 jalapeno, julienne
  • 1 poblano pepper, julienne
  • 1 bell pepper, julienne
  • 1 yellow onion, julienne
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 2 tsp Loco Caliente Spice Mix
  • 1 TBSP cornstarch
  • 2 TBSP cooking oil
  • 2 TBSP lime juice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • salt and pepper
  • 8 tortillas

Directions

  1. In a small bowl mix the kosher salt, cumin, loco caliente seasoning, and cornstarch. Set aside.

  2. Heat the oil in a cast-iron skillet over high heat until shimmering.

  3. Add the steak, peppers and onion to the pan and cook, stirring occasionally, 8 to 12 minutes.

  4. Stir in spice mix and water and simmer until thickened.

  5. Add lime juice, salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Serve in warmed tortillas.
