Jalapeno and Cheddar Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs Yukon gold potatoes
2 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, finely shredded
1/4 cup milk
8 TBSP unsalted butter, softened
2 TBSP diced jalapenos
salt & pepper
Directions
1. Peel potatoes and cut into 1 inch pieces. Place in a pot and cover with water about an inch above potatoes and add 1 tsp salt.
2. Bring to a boil over medium high heat. Reduce heat to medium and cook until tender about 20 minutes.
3. Drain potatoes and return to pot. Add butter and milk and mash potatoes with a masher until no lumps remain.
4. Add cheese and jalapenos and stir. Add salt and pepper to taste.
