Total Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 lb ground pork
1/2 green bell pepper, diced
1/2 red bell pepper, diced
1/2 cup diced onion
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 TBSP dry parsley
1/2 TBSP garlic powder
1/2 TBSP dry basil
1/2 TBSP dry oregano
1 TBSP red wine vinegar
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup water
6 hamburger buns
6 thin slices of provolone cheese
sliced pickles
mayonnaise
Directions
1. Cook the pork, beef, onions and peppers in a dutch oven or large pan over medium-high heat until meat is no longer pink, about 5 minutes, breaking up the meat as it cooks.
2. Stir in the seasonings and water, bring to a boil then reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until liquid has evaporated, 20 to 25 minutes. Take off the heat and stir in the Parmesan.
3. Scoop meat onto toasted buns and top with the provolone cheese, pickles and mayo.
