Garlic & Basil Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients

1 1/2 lbs russet potatoes rinsed, peeled and cut into 1 inch pieces
3 cloves of garlic, peeled and smashed
4 TBSP unsalted butter
1/4 cup whole milk, room temperature
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
salt and pepper

Directions

1. Place potatoes in a large pot and add cold water until it's about an inch above the potatoes. Stir in 1 tsp salt and the garlic cloves. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for about 25 minutes or until potatoes are tender.

2. Drain potatoes and mash with a masher until lumps are eliminated. Stir in milk, butter and basil. Add salt and pepper to taste.
