Baked Avocado Fries with Lemon Pepper Aioli

Sliced avocado breaded and baked to a crispy golden brown served with a lemon pepper aioli dipping sauce

Baked Avocado Fries with Lemon Pepper Aioli recipe

3 ripe avocados
1/2 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 eggs
2 cups panko bread crumbs
1 TBSP cooking oil
For The Aioli:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tsp lemon zest
1 TBSP lemon juice
2 cloves minced garlic
1/4 tsp fresh ground pepper
dash salt


1. Cut the avocados in half lengthwise and discard the pit. Cut the avocado halves lengthwise into 4 equal pieces(8 pieces per avocado for a total of 24), remove the skins from the avocado pieces. Set the sliced avocados aside.

2. Set up three shallow bowls: In the first bowl mix the flour with the salt & pepper, in the second bowl beat the 2 eggs, in the third bowl mix the bread crumbs with the oil.

3. Prepare a baking sheet with a wire rack and preheat the oven to 425°F.

4. Dredge the avocado pieces first in the flour shaking off any excess, next flip them around in the egg to coat, now place them in the breadcrumbs and flip them around pressing lightly to adhere the crumbs. Place the breaded avocado pieces on the wire rack above the baking sheet.

5. Bake in the preheated oven 15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

6. While the avocado fries are cooking mix all the aioli ingredients together in a small bowl.

7. Serve the avocado fries with the aioli dipping sauce. Enjoy.
