Pan Seared Cast Iron Flat Iron Steak

Ingredients

1/3 cup soy sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons rice vinegar
2 TBSP olive oil
1 TBSP vegetable oil
1 tsp red pepper flakes
1 tsp garlic powder
Several grinds of fresh ground black pepper
1 to 1-1/2 lb flat iron steak

Directions

1. In a bowl mix together the soy sauce, vinegar, olive oil, red pepper flakes, garlic and pepper.

2. Place steak in a shallow bowl and pour marinade on. Turn steak several times to coat. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for 12-24 hrs.

3. Heat vegetable oil in a cast iron skillet over medium high heat until oil begans to smoke.

4. Place steak in the cast iron pan and cook on each side for 4 minutes.

5. Place steak on a cutting board and cover with foil. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
