Turkey Meatballs with Braised Cabbage

Ingredients
The Meatballs:
1 pound ground turkey (ideally 85/15)
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
1 large egg, lightly beaten
The Cabbage:
3 TBSP unsalted butter
1 medium head cabbage (2 pounds), cored and shredded
1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
salt and pepper
1/2 cup water
Directions
1. Mix the turkey, garlic, onion, salt, pepper, bread crumbs and egg in a large bowl with your hands until well combined.
2. Roll the mixture into 1 to 1-1/2 inch balls (between 18 and 20 meatballs) and place on a baking sheet. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
3. Take the meatballs out of the fridge and preheat the oven to 425° F.
4. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
5. Melt the butter in a large saute pan over medium heat.
6. Add the cabbage, onion, 1/4 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp pepper and stir to combine.
7. Add the cooked meatballs to the cabbage and pour in the 1/2 cup of water.
8. Place a lid on the pan and cook 15 to 20 minutes or until cabbage is tender.
9. Add salt and pepper to taste.
