Beer Battered Fried Mushrooms

Ingredients
12 ounces beer
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 cups flour
1 quart vegetable oil
10 large white button mushrooms
Directions
1. Whisk the beer, baking powder, garlic, salt, pepper and flour in a large bowl.
2. In a dutch oven heat the oil to 350 degrees F.
3. Dip the mushrooms into the batter and then place immediately into the oil.
4. Fry 5 at a time, turning to ensure even frying about 10 minutes.
