Ham and Swiss Scalloped Potatoes

Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs potatoes peeled and sliced thin
1 1/2 cups cooked diced ham
1 TBSP diced onion
4 TBSP butter
1 1/4 cups whole milk
3 TBSP flour
1/2 TBSP garlic powder
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups swiss cheese shredded
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. In a dutch oven over medium high heat add butter, onion and garlic powder and stir for 2 minutes.
3. Add flour, salt and pepper and stir until well combined. Stir in the milk and bring to a boil.
4. Turn off heat and stir in 3/4 cup of the swiss cheese until melted.
5. Stir in the potatoes and ham until well coated, mixture will be very thick.
6. Butter a 9x9 baking dish with the remaining 1 TBSP butter and add the potato mixture.
7. Bake covered for 50 minutes.
8. Top with remaining cheese and bake uncovered for an additional 25 minutes.
9. Take out of the oven and let rest 5 minutes before serving.
