Crunchy Deep Dish Pepperoni and Green Olive Pizza

Ingredients

1/2 TBSP softened butter
1/2 cup warm water
1 1/2 cups flour
1/8 cup cornmeal
1/2 tsp salt
2 ounces vegetable oil
8 ounces mozzarella cheese shredded
4 ounces tomato sauce
toppings of your choice
3 ounces sliced pepperoni
1/4 cup green olives sliced

Directions

1. In a standing mixer bowl combine yeast, water and sugar and let sit for 5 minutes.

2. To the bowl add the flour, cornmeal, salt, and melted butter. Mix with a dough hook until dough pulls from the side of the bowl, add small amounts of flour and/or water as needed.

3. Place the dough on the counter and flatten into a rectangle shape. Spread softened butter on top of dough.

4. Starting on one end, roll up dough and form into a ball to icorporate the butter.

5. Cover the bottom of a 9 inch glass pie pan with the 2 ounces of oil.

6. Roll out the dough to a circle and place in the pie pan, make sure the dough covers the bottom of the pan.

7. Lightly oil the bottom of a dinner plate and place on top of the dough. Set aside in a warm place and let rise, about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

8. Preheat oven to 475 degrees F.

9. Spread the tomato sauce on the dough followed by the cheese, the pepperoni and then the olives.

10. Bake in the preheated oven until crisp and brown around the edges, about 17 to 20 minutes.

Good but greasy
Has a good flavor and nice crunch, but it is a little greasy.
