Homemade Turkey Sausage Cheeseburgers

Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey
1 TBSP red wine vinegar
2 tsp dried parsley
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp dried rosemary, ground
1/2 tsp fennel seed, ground
1 TBSP olive oil
3 hamburger buns, toasted
3 slices sharp cheddar cheese
optional toppings: lettuce, onion, pickles, mustard, mayo, etc.

Directions

1. Add the ground turkey and all the spices in a large mixing bowl, combine using your hands make sure it's well mixed.

2. Separate the mixture into 3 equal portions then roll each portion into a ball. Press each ball into a patty a little larger in diameter than your hamburger buns (they will shrink a little while cooking). Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld.

3. Heat the oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Lay the burgers in the hot pan and cook until well browned, about 6 minutes. Flip the burgers over, reduce heat to medium cover the pan and cook an additional 7 to 8 minutes, or until turkey is cooked through.

4. Take the pan off the heat, lay a slice of cheese on each burger and let sit until cheese is melted. Transfer burgers to your hamburger buns and top with any additional toppings you like.
