INGREDIENTS
RICE:
1 cup uncooked jasmine rice
1 1/2 cups water
1/4 tsp salt
SAUCE:
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 TBSP raw honey
1 TBSP cornstarch
2 medium garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp freshly minced ginger
1 tsp sesame oil
STIR-FRY:
1 TBSP peanut oil
4 cups (10 to 12 ounces) fresh broccoli florets
1 pound ground beef
1 tsp sesame seeds
salt & freshly ground black pepper
1 bunch green onion, thinly sliced

DIRECTIONS
RICE:
Stir together the rice, water, and salt in a medium-size saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a slight boil.
Place a lid on the pan and reduce the heat to low then cook over low heat, without removing the lid, for 10 minutes.
Turn off the heat and let the rice sit, keeping the lid on, for 15 more minutes.
SAUCE:
Mix together the SAUCE ingredients (water, soy sauce, honey, cornstarch, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil) in a bowl until well combined then set aside.
STIR-FRY:
Heat the peanut oil in a wok over medium-high heat.
Add the broccoli to the wok and cook, stirring often, until broccoli is tender but crisp, 3 to 4 minutes.
Transfer the broccoli to a plate and set aside.
Add the ground beef to the wok and cook, stirring often while breaking up the beef, until beef is browned, 4 to 5 minutes.
Stir the sauce into the wok with the ground beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened a bit, 2 to 3 more minutes.
Take the wok off the heat and stir in the broccoli and sesame seeds then taste and season with salt & pepper, if needed.
Fluff the rice with a fork then serve the beef and broccoli over the steamed rice and topped with green onion.
