In a large mixing bowl stir together the yeast, warm water, honey, and butter.
Stir in the flour and salt until well combined and a dough is formed.
Knead the dough by hand, while in the bowl, for about 10 minutes or until smooth and elastic.
Loosely cover the dough then set aside to rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Divide the dough into 6 equal size pieces then roll each piece into a ball.
Form each dough ball into an oval shape roughly 5-inches long and about 3-inches wide then place them on a large baking sheet.
Brush the tops of the dough with a little water then set aside to rise for about 20 more minutes.
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Use a sharp knife to cut two shallow slits, lengthwise, about 1-inch apart from each other on each dough oval then brush the tops of the dough with a little more water.
Bake in the preheated oven until lightly browned on top, about 17 minutes.
Use a thin spatula under the breads to remove from the baking sheet then place the breads on a cooling rack and allow to cool completely.
