INGREDIENTS
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp black pepper
4 TBSP unsalted butter, melted
1 cup buttermilk
1 large egg, beaten
CONVERSION CALCULATOR
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 425°F.
Mix together all the ingredients in a large bowl until well combined.
Scrape the batter into an 8x8-inch baking dish.
Bake in the preheated oven until browned on top, about 25 minutes.
Allow to cool then use a butter knife or thin spatula to cut squares of cornbread out of the pan.
