In a large mixing bowl stir together the milk and yeast.
Now stir in the flour and salt until well combined and a dough is formed.
Use your hands to knead the dough while in the bowl for about 10 minutes (dough will be a little sticky) then form into a ball.
Drizzle 1 tsp of the oil over the dough ball and flip around a few times to coat in the oil.
Loosely cover the bowl then set aside in a warm place to rise for about 1 hour.
Separate the dough into 8 equal size balls then roll each ball into cylinder shapes roughly 6-inches long and place them on a baking sheet at least 1-inch apart from one another.
Brush the tops of the breadsticks with about 2 tsp of olive oil then sprinkle the Parmesan evenly on top.
Set the breadsticks aside to rise again, this time for about 25 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Bake the breadsticks in the preheated oven for about 14 minutes.
