INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 pounds uncooked bratwurst (about 5 sausages)
6 ounces beer of your choice
3 cups water
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp coriander
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp mustard powder
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp black peppercorn
2 tsp kosher salt
2 TBSP apple cider vinegar
1 large onion, thinly sliced
1 TBSP olive oil
CONVERSION CALCULATOR
DIRECTIONS
Put all the ingredients except the oil and onion into a large pot and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
Reduce the heat to medium-low then cover the pot and simmer for about 25 minutes.
Remove the brats from the pot then dry them with a paper towel.
Heat the oil in a cast-iron pan over medium-high heat until very hot.
Add the brats and onion to the pan and cook, occasionally flipping the brats, until browned.
