8 ounces fresh mozzarella, cut in 1/4-inch slices
2 large heirloom tomatoes, cut in 1/4-inch slices
about 16 fresh basil leaves
extra-virgin olive oil
kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
1. Make a layer alternating between tomato slices and mozzarella on a large plate tucking basil leaves in between each tomato and mozzarella slice. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with kosher salt and freshly ground pepper.
