Cook your pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
Add the butter, pumpkin puree, and milk to a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir and cook until it begins to slightly boil then reduce heat to medium-low.
Add the cream cheese, smoked paprika, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp pepper. Stir and cook until cream cheese is melted. Stir in the cheddar cheese and cook until melted and sauce is smooth.
Stir the cooked pasta into the sauce and season with salt and pepper to taste.
