Mix the flour and salt together in a large mixing bowl.
Stir in the butter and water until thoroughly combined and a dough is formed.
Use your hands to bring the dough together then roll the dough into a ball.
Loosely cover the dough ball and set aside at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Divide the dough into 8 equal size pieces and roll the dough pieces into balls.
Working one at a time flatten a dough ball into a disk with the palm of your hand and lay it on a piece of parchment paper big enough to fit an 8-inch tortilla. Use a rolling pin to roll out the dough into a very thin circle roughly 8-inches in diameter.
Heat a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until hot. When the pan is hot lay a tortilla in the pan, making sure its completely flat, and cook for about 30 seconds on each side or until bubbles begin to form.
Continue making tortillas the same way with the remaining dough.
