Baked White Cheddar Grits
Creamy stone ground grits baked with white cheddar cheese.

Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 3 TBSP unsalted butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 9 ounces (about 1 1/2 cups) stone ground white grits
- 6 ounces white cheddar cheese, finely shredded
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 large eggs
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In a medium saucepan combine the water, butter, salt, and pepper, bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Stir in the grits very slowly (so they dont clump) and return to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low and cook, stirring often, for about 15 minutes.
- Take the grits off the heat and stir in the cheese until melted.
- Lightly whisk the milk and eggs in a bowl then stir in with the grits.
- Pour the grits into a 8x8 baking dish and bake uncovered for 1 hour or until top is lightly browned and eggs are set.
