Savory Noodle Kugel
A baked egg noodle and custard-style casserole.

Ingredients
- 12 ounces medium egg noodles
- 12 ounces cottage cheese
- 12 ounces sour cream
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 1 TBSP plus 1 tsp olive oil
- 1/2 small yellow onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced

Directions
- Cook the egg noodles according to package directions then drain and set aside.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a large bowl mix together the cottage cheese, sour cream, eggs, salt, and black pepper until combined.
- Heat 1 TBSP of the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat then add the onion and garlic to the pan and cook, stirring often, until onion is softened and lightly browned, about 5 minutes.
- Stir the onion and garlic in the bowl with the cottage cheese mixture then stir in the cooked noodles until combined.
- Brush 1 tsp oil on the inside of an 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Spread the noodle mixture into the baking dish then bake in the preheated oven until lightly browned on top, about 40 minutes.
- Take the kugel out of the oven and allow to rest for 15 minutes before serving.
