INGREDIENTS
1 cup dried black beans, rinsed
1 cup uncooked farro, rinsed
1 yellow onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
2 pounds roma tomatoes, chopped
1/4 cup paprika
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp dried oregano
2 cups water
salt and freshly ground black pepper
OPTIONAL TOPPINGS:
shredded cheddar cheese
diced onion
sliced jalapeno
sour cream
tortilla chips
CONVERSION CALCULATOR
DIRECTIONS
Add all the ingredients including 2 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp black pepper to a 6-quart slow cooker and stir to combine.
Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on LOW for about 7 hours or until beans are tender.
Take the lid off and stir the chili then taste and season with additional salt & pepper if needed.
