1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice (about 2 pounds of oranges)
1/4 cup honey
2 TBSP soy sauce
1 TBSP rice vinegar
1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
2 TBSP cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water
DIRECTIONS
MEATBALLS:
Preheat the oven to 425°F.
Mix all the MEATBALLS ingredients together in a large mixing bowl until well combined. Then use your hands to form small balls about 1-inch in diameter. Place the balls on a large rimmed baking sheet.
Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven until cooked through, about 15 minutes.
SAUCE:
Add the orange zest, orange juice, honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and crushed red pepper to a saucepan. Stir well and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
Reduce the heat to medium. In a small bowl whisk together the cornstarch and 1/4 cup of cold water.
Slowly stir the cornstarch mixture into the pan with the sauce. Cook over medium heat, stirring often, until sauce is thickened, about 8 minutes.
Add the cooked meatballs to the sauce and stir until all the meatballs are well coated in the sauce.
