INGREDIENTS

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/4 cups warm whole milk
  • 1 1/4 tsp salt

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place a dutch oven (without the lid) in the oven. Turn the oven to 450°F and allow the dutch oven to get hot in the oven for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Make the self-rising flour by mixing the flour and baking powder together in a large mixing bowl then stir in the milk and salt until well combined.
  3. Form the dough into a ball then place the dough on a piece of parchment paper.
  4. Carefully take the dutch oven out of the oven then lay the dough and parchment paper into the dutch oven.
  5. Place a lid on the dutch oven then place back in the oven and bake the bread for 35 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven then carefully transfer the bread to a cooling rack and allow to cool for 30 minutes.
