Fresh Tomato and Basil Marinara

Ingredients
3 TBSP olive oil
2 pounds Roma tomatoes, chopped
1 small yellow onion, diced
4 garlic cloves, peeled and minced
3 TBSP tomato paste
salt & pepper
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 cup freshly chopped basil leaves
Directions
1. Add the olive oil, tomatoes, onion, garlic, tomato paste, 3/4 tsp salt, and crushed red pepper to a dutch oven or large pot over medium-high heat.
2. Cook, stirring often while breaking up the tomatoes, until it begins to boil.
3. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer the sauce, stirring occasionally while breaking up the tomatoes, for about 25 minutes.
4. Take the pot off the heat and stir in the fresh basil. Taste and season with additional salt & pepper if necessary.
