INGREDIENTS
2 TBSP olive oil
1 cup uncooked jasmine rice
1/2 cup dried vermicelli pasta, broken into 1/2-inch pieces
2 1/4 cups water
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried parsley
salt & freshly ground black pepper

DIRECTIONS
Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat.
Add the rice and pasta to the pan and cook, stirring often, for about 2 minutes.
Stir in the water, onion, garlic, parsley, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp black pepper and bring to a boil.
Place the lid on the pan and reduce the heat to low then simmer, without removing the lid, for 10 minutes.
Turn off the heat and let the rice sit, without removing the lid, for 15 more minutes.
Remove the lid then gently fluff the rice with a fork and season with additional salt & pepper if needed.
