INGREDIENTS
1 cup uncooked white long-grain rice
1 TBSP olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp ground cumin
salt
freshly ground black pepper
1 1/2 cups water

DIRECTIONS
Stir together the olive oil and rice in a medium-size saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring often, for about 1 minute.
Stir in the garlic, onion, paprika, cumin, 1/4 tsp salt, and 1/8 tsp black pepper until well combined.
Stir in the water then bring to a slight boil.
Cover the pan then reduce the heat to low and simmer the rice for 10 minutes, without removing the lid.
Turn off the heat and let the rice sit on the stove for 20 more minutes, still making sure to not remove the lid.
Remove the lid and fluff the rice with a fork then season with additional salt and pepper to taste.
